They are smoke screens, distractions to take the attention of the American people away from the real mess. It can be compared to how a magician distracts the audience with one hand while he performs the turn with the other.
The administrations attacks on Rush Limbaugh that were then propogated by the media … a huge distraction. Rush is one of the true conservative heroes of my time, the attacks are based on this quote from his radio show:
“The dirty little secret … is that every Republican in this country wants Obama to fail, but none of them have the guts to say so; I am willing to say it.”
They hooped and hollered, saying that if you want the President to fail, then you want America to fail.
I listened to Jose Compean and Ignacio Ramos as they both called the Glenn Beck show last Friday. One at a time, they called to say thank you to Glenn for the support from him and the American people. They had their ankle bracelets removed just minutes prior to their calls and the joy you could hear in their voices was incredible.
As Jose was talking about how weird it feels to be without that bracelet and how he hasn’t exercised his newfound freedom. Glenn asked him if he had a portable phone and suggested that Jose walk off his property, cross the street… anything.
We listened as Jose went outside with the birds chirping and crossed the street. It was amazing… I could almost feel his relief, his happiness as he pronounced he was in the middle of the street and still crossing. I mean how small and simple is the act of crossing the street ?
