US Attorney General Eric J. Holder, Jr. and his prosecutors are likely to start knocking on a lot of doors in Washington, since announcing last Monday an official investigation into the alleged abuse of detainees held by the Central Intelligence Agency.
But they won’t find a welcome mat if they come around to former Vice President Dick Cheney.
In a Fox News television interview six days after Mr. Holder’s announcement, Mr. Cheney suggested that he might not cooperate with the Attorney General, The Washington Post reported.
Asked whether he would talk to John Durham, the veteran prosecutor appointed by Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. to examine allegations that the CIA abused Sept. 11 terror suspects, Cheney said: “It will depend on the circumstances and what I think their activities are really involved in.
Cheney went on to further state his stance on the issue:
“I’m very proud of what we did in terms of defending the nation for the past eight years, successfully,”
Cheney said in a recorded interview.
“And it won’t take a prosecutor to find out what I think. I’ve already expressed those views.”
Who would have guessed during his near silent years in and around the White House that Cheney would emerge and be so outspoken against these radical agendas? I sure didn’t.
These investigations are the works of Banana Republics, where a perpetual cycle of prosecutions take place of the nation’s previous leader, usually by the new leader, that are based upon any number of “crimes against the state”.
This just doesn’t happen in America… especially on issues such as the War on Terrorism in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Bush administration worked itself to death trying to protect this country, regardless of how unpopular they were among the people that benefit from it the most. For many reasons these are unprecedented times in America, why should this be any different?
In 1961, long before running for his Presidency, Ronald Reagan established himself as a staunch opponent of Nationalized Healthcare. He formulated speeches and radio addresses about politics and issues in general, one of them was his famous speech speaking out against socialized medicine.
Yesterday, Glenn Beck presented a remix of this speech on his radio program, the audio was created by his staff. Its not quite a rap, its not quite a chant, but you’ll recognize the format. Let me just say, you’re in for a treat. Listening to this for the first time, and everytime since then… is just another reason that makes me proud to be American.
Now…kick back and listen to this, its just over 5 minutes long (half as long as the original). You’ll wish there was more:
The Reagan of our era will emerge from the crowd and champion the taking back of this country by true Americans and our majority Conservative roots will once again be reestablished. I don’t need to remind you but the ground swell is already there to support this, OVERWHELMINGLY.
Take a look at the linked video to listen to the full speech of his for further arguments against this abomination. Reagan… you truly are a Patriot.
First appointed August 13th, Mark Lloyd will head up the FCC as Chief Diversity Officer and will steer their rules and regulations, by steer I mean take so far off course you wouldn’t recognize it as an American organization. As liberal as the FCC has proven itself to be in its 75 year history, the Diversity Czar’s background makes it look like childs play in comparison.
According to CNSNews’ Matt Cover, Mark wants to require Private Broadcasters to pay 100% of their operating fees to further fund Public Broadcasting so they can operate under the same budgets as these companies. In addition, these Private Broadcasting companies would be regulated and be required to focus on “diverse views” and government issues as well as their regular programming. Its a 1-2 Punch of an outrageous Tax and Communistic Regulation.
Make no mistake about it, this is SCARY stuff. And it is happening NOW. This Czar is for real, it is only a matter of time. Based on the speed that Obama and his thugs have raced us to where we are today, this could happen SOON. Just think Fairness Doctrine.
David is a disabled Marine Corp Veteran, he is a Conservative to the core, and he too has had enough of the lies and injustices that are plaguing our Government. He is among the once silent majority that is now standing up and speaking its mind without fear of this increasingly tyrannical government. Rep. Brian Baird held a Town Hall meeting in Clark County, Washington on August 18th. Among over 2000 attendees, David was selected at random to ask a question (38 total questions were asked). The video will speak for itself!
Take note around 1:05 of this video where Hedrick brings up Rep Baird referring to the grassroots movement at these Town Halls as “Brown Shirt tactics..”. Baird denies it immediately and after a moment says “…and I apologized”. The full quote below comes from a phone interview he engaged in on August 5th.
Rep Brian Baird said:
What we’re seeing right now is close to Brown Shirt tactics, I mean that very seriously.
This Town Hall, like so many others in the past 2-3 weeks, has gotten National news attention because of the true discontent that average citizens are showing due to what is being done to this country by our so-called “leaders”. Hedrick even got the attention of Sean Hannity and was invited as a guest on Hannity’s Radio Show.
Death threats have been made and Hedrick’s address has been posted on extreme Liberal blogs and readers instructed to pay him a visit. You liberals disgust me. But David, you inspire me and remind me that America is Conservative at its core. When the cage is rattled too long, you awaken the beast.
Where has the Silent Majority gone? Voiceless no longer, Americans, firmly rooted in their conservative values are flooding local town hall meetings all across this Great Nation. I have personally participated in, and witnessed ordinary Americans from all walks of life showing up at town hall meetings to speak their piece.
They do not mirror or mimic the professional protesters of the Left. Americans show up and ask educated, pointed, and hard hitting questions. They show up with respect but also a deep brewing, bridled, anger at their elected officials. The Silent Majority is quiet no longer. No longer will we be spoon fed our daily dose of mind numbing propaganda perpetrated by the likes of CBS, NBC, MSNBC and CNN.
Can you remember a time when ordinary, hard working, family oriented Americans mobilized in such a fashion. This movement is not “organized.” This movement is not being directed by some unseen puppet master like those who control the brainless masses on the Left. We have no George Soros, no Michael Moore, ginning up hate and discord. Now, regular folks are reading one thousand pages of bureaucratic legalese. And armed with damning facts gleaned from hours of careful reading, Americans are calling their congressman out.
The question that now remains is simple. Will the Statists running this administration and congress hear our voice? If they heap the wax of their own power and ego into their deafened ears they will soon regret it. As we speak, Statists are tirelessly working to take over Health Care. We must not fade, we must not falter, we must not bicker amongst ourselves and, we must not fail. Now is the time to speak Truth without fear. Rise Up!
Chris Matthews, esteemed host of Hardball, on MSNBC, interviewed two journalists regarding the recent uproar at town hall meetings. The interview took place on 7 August, 2009 at around 7:00 p.m.
Mr. Matthews was speaking with Cynthia Tucker of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and Ron Brownstein of National Journal Magazine. Chris Matthews raised a question regarding whether the crowds were motivated by racism or true outrage over proposed government run health care. Here follows some of the more ‘interesting’ quotes from Chris Matthews and Cynthia Tucker. Ron Brownstein is not quoted here. See the attached video for the whole of the conversation.
Cynthia Tucker stated early on the discussion:
“Let me start out by saying, Chris, that there is absolutely no way to prove that people have racist motives. There’s no way to know what’s in people’s hearts and minds.”
Later in response to Mr. Matthews, Cynthia Tucker stated:
“Or when you hear people at these tea party protesters say, ‘this is America, this is no longer the country that I grew up in, this country is changing.’ Well that suggests to me that race is part of this. Can I prove it? Absolutely not. Do I believe it is? Absolutely.”
